Methot Method Consulting was founded in April of 2023. The influx of pandemic rescue funds and infrastructure funds created a need for additional oversight and compliance for the use of federal funds. Methot Method Consultants are experts in the areas of grant writing and compliance. They are here to ensure you receive the maximum award possible as well as avoid audit findings.
Although grant consulting is the passion that drove the creation of Methot Method, we are not a one trick pony. Methot Method Consulting is well equipped to provide services surrounding tax increment financing and affordable housing programs as well.
The Team
Amanda Methot-Vigue
Amanda is the heart behind Methot Method. She holds a law degree and has been a member of the Maine State Bar since 2017. Additionally, she has a master’s in social work and worked in direct care prior to switching careers. Amanda has always had the goal of using her law degree to create large scale change for disenfranchised populations and struggling communities. She found that working with communities and non-profits to maximize their federal funds did just that. Prior to starting Methot Method Amanda was the Housing and Community Development Compliance Officer for the City of Portland. She managed roughly $15 million in federal funds and spearheaded the best plan of action for roughly $40 million of COVID recovery funds.
She left the city to work for Bernstein Shur in their municipal practice group. She was immersed in the Tax Increment Financing practice and trained with arguably one of the best, Shana Cook Mueller. Amanda has helped countless municipalities establish new districts to maximize development and keep funds in the community to provide for improved infrastructure and amenities. Additionally, she has formed strong relationships with the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development and is well equipped to act as a liaison between the state and a municipality.
When she is not working Amanda is hanging with her husband Ricky and their two rescue dogs. You can often find them on the trail as they are trying to complete all the 4000-foot mountains in Maine and New Hampshire
Avery and Meadow are the head of the moral department at Methot Method. These two are well equipped in keeping a smile on our consultant’s face. They also ensure that the team gets fresh air and a daily dose of vitamin D. You may see a guest appearance from Avery and Meadow on Zoom every now and then.
